2023 Design Inspiration

Now that it is almost 2023 I've had a look at the design trends for the new year.

I wouldn’t say you should necessarily follow any trends- I’m much more of the opinion that YOU should do YOU. Go with what you like, who you are and what you want because trends are not often here to stay, in comparison to you!

So instead of writing a blog about the new and amazing design trends for 2023, I thought I’d write about design INSPIRATION- visuals that can inspire us in the new year butthat can be changed up to what you like.

Illustrations

As you may know I love illustrating- so can get completely behind this trend!

Illustrations are the perfect way to stand out. Other brands will not be able to copy them as the hand-drawn illustrations will be created just for you.

Take it one step further; animated illustrations (like the one above) add some movement and character to your website or social media account!

Illustrations are also a good way to break up all the photos you would usually use on your website or social channels but still stay on brand.

Bold fonts

Another one that I love- go bold or go home!

A big bold font will catch people’s attention, say what you stand for and make it clear what you have to say.

Play about with a big bold one and a small simpler one to create an even more dramatic look.

90s look

Vibrant nostalgia – what’s not to love? But why stop at the 90s? Dive further back in the past for inspiration. Bold patterns, colour palettes, fashion and interiors from the 60s, 70s and 80s is often where I find inspiration. I will be adding the 90s to it now too.

Nature inspired

So much inspiration to find in nature! Be it shapes, textures, colour palettes or materials. But instead of the muted earthy colours I like to look at the bold and bright colours that you can also find in nature and take my inspiration from that.

Geometric shapes

Geometric shapes lend themselves well for clean, minimalistic designs. Giving your brand a modern and professional look. I like to add a pop of colour to it and make them playful, fun and creative. Or you can make them not so perfect, shapes that aren’t 100% perfect or lines that aren’t super straight.
